Weatherhead

Founded in 1919 by Albert J. Weatherhead. The company originally manufactured Radiator Drain Cocks.

1931

Believed to be Weatherhead’s first crimp style coupling for wire reinforced hose. Refer to Patent # 2,000,680 and 2,025,427 A.

The unique process called Hose Coupling Spinning was used to crimp the ferrule. See patent 2,00,680 at any patent web site for more details.

1937

Hose Crimper patent # 2,211,622 A. This crimper was an improvement from a previous crimper. This style crimper represents a more traditional crimping method. The hose fitting can be found inserted upside down at the top of the crimper.
